Gotan Project, Voca People, Biondi, Rava & More! Rome’s May Music Events Not To Miss

The May 1st concert was certainly the most attended music events of the month in Rome, but it is not the only one! Rome’s music scene is bustling and before the open-air concert season starts there are still some major music happenings taking place here.


On May 10, the Voca People will come back to Rome. They were here at the end of last year, but considered how much success they got, they decided to return to the Eternal City. With over 15 million viewers on YouTube, this new phenomenon like no other show will be on stage at the Auditorium Conciliazione, in via della Conciliazione 4, very near St. Peter’s. Amazing vocal sounds, accapella singing with the art of beat box creating an incredible range of sounds and instruments will please your ears for an evening of total excitement, music of all times, comedy and audience participation.


Tango and its spin-offs will sweep into Rome from mid-may. On the 16th the Gotan Project will stage a long-anticipated concert in the huge hall of Atlantico Live with their Tango 3.0 Tour. The French-Argentine band will present their new album and their new style, with tradtional Tango sounds, the classic Argentine folks music, electro vibes, blues and cool jazz notes with a fusion touch.

The second Tango-related event will be by Soledad Villamil and Los Hermanos Macana at Auditorium – Parco della Musica on May 31. The cult performer Soledad Villamil will sing for the first time her country’s music in Rome with the top Tango dancers Los Hermanos Macana. She will play both classic Tango melodies and her own songs for a night with plenty of emotions, truth and irony, the essential ingredients of Tango.


Jazz lovers will not be disappointed either. Enrico Rava, one of Italy’s best jazz trumpet players, will be on stage with the PMJL crew, Italian young emerging jazz talents, on May 20 at Auditorium. They will play Michael Jackson‘s music.

While Auditorium conciliazione will host Italy’s best jazz and soul voice, often compared to Barry White, Isaac Hayes and Lou Rawls: Mario Biondi. His concert is on May 21.
