Ballet, circus, plays, shows, jazz and much more in one of the largest and best-preserved ancient Roman imperial villas. This is FestiVAl, the happening organized at Villa Adriana, in Tivoli, the little town very near Rome, also famous for the fountain gardens and the Renaissance building of Villa d’Este and the wild park of Villa Gregoriana.
What more can you ask of an event? Top calibre artists from all over the world in a breath-taking setting such as Villa Adriana, the favorite resort of one of Rome’s best emperors, Hadrian!
From June 16 to July 20 you can enjoy in the UNESCO World Heritage Site (Tivoli can also boast of another one: Villa d’Este) the fifth edition of this international, multi-disciplinary happening.
We suggest you to enjoy Cassandra Wilson‘s magic voice and swing on July 16. The Cirque Invisible by Jean-Baptiste Thierrée and Victoria Chaplin on June 16-19, for the opening show of the festival. The theatre worldwide premiere on stage on July 1 and 2, Caligula (another famous Roman emperor but with a bad reputation) by the Lithuanian director Eimuntas Nekrosius. The Dance section will feature the company Ballets C de la B on June 25-6, while for classic music the young Chinese talent Zhang Haochen will make his debut in Italy on July 9.
