Saturday 5th October: ‘Magnetica’ at Angelomai

Angelomai prides itself as one of the most unconventional venues in Rome. This ex warehouse turned alternative music hub strives to be the answer to the mundane and monotonous in Rome’s nightlife. Following on its theme of creating bespoke events, on the 5th of October ‘Magnetica’ will kick off with a vintage fashion show followed by space pop, go-go and soul live performances. The nostalgic music vibes will continue into with night with 3 guest DJs and video art installations acting as a backdrop to their grand homage to the pop of yesteryear.

Monday 7th October: Shout Out Louds at Circolo Degli Artisti

Circolo Degli Artisti aims to please, with outdoor BBQ garden area, late night café, three bars, and large indoor live stage and club. They like to keep the vibe artsy and quirky and the 7th of October will be no exception with alt indie pop group Shout Out Louds playing for their buck. Stopping off in Rome as part of the Italian leg of their European tour, think of them as The Cure mixed with MGMT with a little space dust thrown in. These school friends from Stockholm have created a twanging, expansive and sugary sound attuned to the wandering lonely hearts of a new lost generation.

Saturday 19th October: Martin Buttrich at Goa

Goa is an underground clubbing sensation, taking pride of place in the busy backstreet alley of late night bars and clubs behind Via Ostiense. In recent years it has spearheaded an explosion of electronic music in Rome. By importing leading DJs in the field especially from Germany, the heartland of electronic music in Europe, Goa has become a trusted centre for cutting edge DJ masters. Martin Buttrich is just such a master. Known as a hands-on DJ, Buttrich creates grooves with vintage samplers, bass guitars and an eclectic collection of samples honed over years of grafting on Berlin’s club scene. Equipped with Goa’s impressive mega sound system, on the 19th of October Buttrich is sure to lure the crowd at Goa into a blissful trance with his trademark slick and rhythmic electronic beats.
